UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC)

Dear Delegates,

My name is Sersa Janbek, and I have the honor of serving as the President of the Human Rights Council at AQMUN 2025. I am a 17-year-old senior at the Modern Montessori School in Amman, Jordan. Having been part of the MUN community for several years, I have come to deeply value its role in shaping how young people understand justice, equality, and diplomacy. I am delighted to be chairing this committee alongside an exceptional team of student officers whose professionalism and dedication I greatly admire.

I believe that the most meaningful MUN experiences take place in spaces where delegates feel respected, challenged, and heard. As President, I am committed to fostering a committee grounded in mutual respect, thoughtful discussion, and openness to different viewpoints. The Human Rights Council addresses issues that are deeply human, often personal, and at times difficult. It is my hope that we create an environment where delegates engage with empathy, speak with purpose, and debate with dignity.

I look forward to meeting each of you and witnessing the unique insight and commitment you will bring to our sessions. It is a true privilege to serve in this role, and I am confident that together we will build a committee that is not only intellectually engaging but also deeply impactful. I cannot wait to begin this journey with you at AQMUN 2025.

Sincerely,
Sersa Janbek
President of the Human Rights Council
