UN Security Council

Dear Delegates,

My name is Saji Khalil, and I am honored to serve as the President of the Security Council at AQMUN 2025. I am a 12th grade IB student at Ramallah Friends School. Over the past few years, Model United Nations conferences have played a pivotal role in shaping who I am and developing my social and leadership skills. In addition to chairing this prestigious committee, I also have the privilege of serving as the Head of Training for AQMUN, so I am ready to support you throughout this journey. I am proud to work alongside a truly talented and exceptional chairing panel whose professionalism and skills I deeply value.

I believe the essence of a successful committee lies in mutual respect, open dialogue, and a shared commitment to excellence, as well as a positive and enjoyable atmosphere when the time is right. As President, my goal is to create an environment where delegates are challenged to think critically and defend their nation’s policies with conviction, while also feeling heard, respected, and empowered to grow. At the same time, I want this to be an experience you enjoy. My hope is to strike the perfect balance between professionalism and a relaxed atmosphere so that every delegate feels confident contributing meaningfully to the debate.

It is a true privilege to take on this role, and I look forward to meeting each of you, witnessing your dedication, and learning together through the challenging and dynamic debates ahead. Let us strive to make this Security Council not only productive and impactful, but also an experience that is memorable for everyone involved.
